Recycling Unwanted Mobile Phones

In the UK there is an estimated 90 million unused mobile phones, with more than half of the general public upgrading their phone contracts and their phone every few years.

Only half the population of the UK are aware of being able to recycle their unused mobiles. About 50% of the population know how much they could sell their phones for. Astonishingly, in the last 12 months only 1 in 10 people have recycled their unwanted mobile.

Across Europe there is an estimated 160 million unused mobiles. If all of the materials that can be found in mobiles, i.e. gold, lead, etc. were recycled from all of the unused mobile phones in Europe, they would sell for £315 million.

At Office Green we provide a mobile phone recycling service. Like every other one of our recycling services we have the simplest and most recycling focused scheme.

Recycling Fuser Units

A fuser unit is a part of the printer which does the printing. The fuser unit is made up of two rollers, which is where the paper goes through. One roller is made from thick rubber, and the other is made from thin metal in order to heat up quickly.

When the thin metal roller has toner on it, it heats up, pressing against the paper and the thick rubber roller, this transfers the toner onto the paper.

After a lot of wear and tear, the fuser unit wears out and needs to be replaced. The best way to dispose of your fuser unit is to recycle it.

At Office Green we collect and sell a variety of fuser units, mainly Hewlett Packard and Lexmark, that are suitable for refurbishment in the 220v and 110v markets.

Various fuser units in modern printer’s are customer replaceable items.

These fuser units can simply be returned on their own if you have a minimum of ten units featured on our points list. You can even combine a fuser unit with any cartridges or mobiles that you have ready to return.
