Reasons for Recycling Printer Cartridges

Every year in the UK we throw away over 30 million ink cartridges. To produce that amount of ink cartridges it takes 1,425,000 litres of oil. When you consider that ink cartridges take 1,000 years to decompose, it is clear how this will impact the environment. • Ink cartridges with a microchip may cause inkjet printers to refuse to print with a cartridge that declares itself empty, to prevent consumers from refilling cartridges.
