Zero to Landfill!

In the UK, Section 34 of the The Environmental Protection Act 1990 states that it, “imposes a duty of care on persons concerned with controlled waste”. It says that the Duty of Care must take all reasonable steps to keep your waste safe and that if you give your waste to someone, that you need to be sure that they are authorised to take it.

Without a doubt, all the large reputable waste collectors are licensed and authorised to collect your ‘waste’. However there a certain items that should not be classified as ‘waste’ such as used cartridges and mobile phones. This means that the cartridges or mobile phones collected are unavoidably going to end up in landfill.

However, this does not mean to say that either you or the respectable licensed waste collector have done anything illegal. Instead, it can be described as not being environmentally friendly considering the greener solutions that are on offer.

At Office Green we are passionate about what we do, which is enforced by out ‘Zero to Landfill’ initiative. We specialise in collecting and recycling used mobile phones and ink cartridges. For more information about how you can work towards a greener future visit our website at:
