Recycling and reducing your waste

There are many ways you can recycle more and reduce the amount of waste that you produce, here are some tips to get you started:

Going digital - Instead of reading newspapers and magazines, try reading them online instead. Nowadays, the majority of newspapers and magazines have online versions.

Buy products that have little or no packaging - Buying in bulk is a good example of this. Look for products available to buy in bulk that you can purchase by using your own containers.

Buy high quality products - Products of high quality last longer and subsequently reduces your waste.

Buying second hand - Before you buy something brand new, consider second hand. You can find quality products at your local charity shop, it also helps to reduce waste as there isn’t any packaging.

Using towels and fabric napkins - Instead of wasting paper towels mopping up spills, try using towels as you can wash and reuse them.

Take your own bags when shopping - Taking your own bags when going food shopping will prevent the waste of plastic bags. Many supermarkets sell reusable fabric bags.
